It seems that there were a lot of people waiting for their chance to dunk Bill Schiavone of the SchiavoneDiamond Team at Downtown Oakville's Midnight Madness on Friday, July 15th. People were pre-purchasing their tickets in anticipation of Bill's arrival on the perch. Along with Dan Ferrone, Roy Tjoa and others, Bill was volunteering at the Swim For Mental Health's dunk tank booth. Temperatures that night were perfect and enjoyable, but the water in the dunk tank was near freezing! Bill was a good sport though, having been dunked at least 50 times.
Frank Zamuner's 3rd annual Swim for Mental Health event will take place on November 24, 25 & 26 at Appleby College Pool. After a triple bypass operation, Frank found himself suffering from depression and is now raising awareness and funds for the Mental Health program at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, where he received excellent care. The booth will be located on the south side of Lakeshore Road, between Dunn & Trafalgar Road, in front of Knox Presbyterian Church.
